Hula Hooping

A perfect Saturday for hula hooping. I made this hoop. I should use it more often.

Ahem

Why do some people feel it is okay to make rude comments to and about fat people? I wouldn't go up to someone and say, "Gee your nose is big," or "Your dance video shouldn't be on youtube because you are too short?" I hate that I internalize all the rude comments I hear people make to other fat people. I have a friend that lost 200 pounds, and random strangers still come up to her and inform her that she's fat and should see a doctor about losing weight. People, you have got to stop this. Your own prejudice and hate is rubbing off on other people who don't need your opinion. Does it make you feel superior to be so rotten? Do you think you are going to shame them into losing weight? Does that ever work?

Say something nice or go away. Grow some manners. Sheesh.

Day 1 I Want My Dancer's Body Back

I saw a very fit 15 year old on Dailybooth.com and it lit a fire under me to get in shape. I am mortified at the way I look. So this morning I had my boyfriend take full body photos. Usually I 'cheat' and use tricky angles in an effort to look thinner. But that only works online, and when people meet me in real life they see me as I am. I cringe to look at these, but it wouldn't be much of a goal if we didn't have before and after photos right? I'm not sure if I'm brave, stupid or just trying to humiliate myself.
BTW I do have men on my Flickr group that think I'm hot just the way I am. But it's my own eye that has to be content, right?

I could use a little encouragement.

Fitness is not something I will ever give up on, even though I seem to be failing in the process. My top half should be fixable. Sometimes I think below the waist is too far gone to ever reclaim. I am now officially shaped like a pyramid. Hopefully the juggling will help, especially at the rate I am dropping things on the ground and bending over to pick them up. Also, if I can ever get the hoop to stay around my waist, that should help. Partly, because of aging my skin is losing it's elasticity and that isn't helping any either. But mostly it's the need to change my lifestyle from an inactive one to an active one, which means less TV and way less computer sitting. I'm just tired of spending so much time on the battle of the bulge.
