Creative workout

Friday's workout consisted of sorting and stacking boxes and moving furniture and dragging things out to the garage.
Which meant my Sat's workout plan of walking in the park turned into a slow stroll because my lower back hurt something awful.

Tough to decide sometimes.

They say that athletes make the worse patients. They won't stay off of injuries long enough to let them heal properly.So for once I'm going to let my head rule my heart. I'm staying off my bad knee today because I know a 2 hour class tonight would kill my efforts to let it heal this week. My two students are too new to go through class with verbal directions. I feel bad that I had to cancel though. Still better to skip one class than to do permanent damage.

Working around injuries.

I'm nursing a sore knee that I aggravated in belly dance class last Tues. I just hope I don't make it worse next Tues. I'm trying to stay off of it and work out my upper body instead.

Are you having water guilt?

I have always been sceptical of the commonly held belief that we should each drink 8 glasses of water (8 oz. per glass) every day. So this morning I did some research into it. And Bingo...I found an article that says this water thing is an urban myth. And that much of the daily quota is met in the foods we consume that have water in them already. We all need help now and then.

Like most people, I'm always struggling to get in shape and stay in shape. Since I'm alone a lot of the time, it's hard to stay motivated. But I think having a blog will keep me more aware of it, so I can stay on top of things. Intellectually, I think fitness is extremely important. Realistically, I'm not getting to the point I want to be. So there you have it. You can all witness my fitness efforts.
